How Critical thinking and Ethics Affect my Life

    One thing that is certain about success in any and all aspects of life is that you must have at least have basic critical thinking skills, and a strong foundation of ethical belief. Critical thinking is the ability to think clearly and rationally. It includes the ability to engage in reflective and independent thinking. Someone with critical thinking skills is able to do the following: understand the logical connections between ideas. Ethics is concerned with distinguishing between good and evil in the world, between right and wrong human actions, and between virtuous and non-virtuous characteristics of people. What is critical thinking and how do ethics play a role? Are ethics more than personal opinion, and does diversity make a difference? Critical thinking skills are simple to achieve. All a person would need is the ability to be objective in reasoning rather than subjective, and confirmative. Being objective in reasoning is simply being respectful of the diversity of all people. When business people talk about “business ethics”, it should contains three main points: (1) must obey the criminal law in some work-related activities; (2) avoid action that may result in civil law suits against business activities; (3) avoid personal behaviors that bad for customers, competitors, subordinates and suppliers. Doing business should especially concern with these three principles since they involve loss of money and company reputation.

    The only way I shall succeed in my field is to have good critical thinking skills. I want to start out as a police officer. For example I’m working midnights. It’s a couple of hours past the time I usually get my nightly “drunk driver arrest”, but it’s a slow night, so I’m doing some property checks.
