A functional behavioural assessment is a collaborative approach that includes a variety of approaches to identify and establish the causes of specific problem behaviours and create appropriate and correlating interventions and support plans in order to positively address and improve the problem behaviour (Quinn, Gable, Rutherford, Nelson & Howell, 1998).
