A resume's primary job is to describe your skills and experience and to get you in the door for a personal pitch on selling your services. Listing some skill or experience won't necessarily get you the job, but failing to list skills because you don't have any means that you don't get considered at all. Recruitment tools, of which a good curriculum vitae is one, will get you on the list of candidates best qualified for a job.

Although interviews are widely used recruitment tools, they are not the best predictor of on-the-job performance, and strategies such as assessment centres,   and rigorous reference checks will uncover much more reliable data.

Recruitment tools like the Internet give one the ability to access information regarding jobs in the whole country and other parts of the world. The Internet is basically unlimited in its ability to serve as a non-stop recruiting tool for any company and more and more people are learning how to navigate the Internet for a job.

Every successful company is successful today because they have right people in the right job, and company's have started partnering with recruitment agencies in order to handle all manpower needs and issues. The agencies offer services like contracting, temporary employment services, permanent staffing services, job profiling, credit checks and reference checks and all other necessary tests for the company.

Internships and on the job training are some of the options that companies use as recruitment tools.
