New immigrants should do as Romans do?

As fas as I know, there is a lot of immigrants move from their hometown to the other countries. This is a result of the fact that immigranting to the other countries can enable these people to get more comfortable life. Although these immigrants may get better life ,it is inevitable for them to face the problem of different culture. Should the new immigrants do as Romans do? In my opinion, they should adapt to the new culture as soon as possible.

First of all, doing as Romans do can prevent the new immigrant from suffering the new life. For example, the fact that a new immigrant refused to pay the rent is a result of the fact that the owner of the apartment was not willing to fix the bad windows. This new immigrant thought it was reasonable in his or her culture. Unfortunately, this person received a letter of court and he had to pay the payment finally. This is a result of the fact that he was less knowledgeable of the local culture. By contrast, if he or she knew the local culture, he or she may made the owner compensate him or her. This example show the fact that it is essential for the new immigrants to know the local culture.
Secondly, doing as the Romans do make it possible for the new immigrants to avoid the conflicts. You are aware of the fact that there are a lot of differences among the differernt cultures. For example, some new immigrants like smoking in the room. However , the local people always smoke outside. If the new immigrants who like smoking at room do not do as the Romans do, it is possible for them to meet a conflict. So, it is important for the new immigrants to do as the Romans do.

Thirdly, doing as the Romans do is benefical for the new immigrants to set up their network in a new area. If the new immigrants know the local culture , it may helpful for them to communciate with the local people.
