1985-1990 Metallica Report
Metallica has done very many things in 1985-1990 they went on tours with major bands, put out a couple of cd’s, got their first tour not playing as an opening band for anybody else. Metallica was in the ‘lime light’ during 1985-1990. The band went through so much during 1985-1990 a death, a replacement, and many more.
“On the 17th of August in 1985 Metallica performed for the first time at the Monsters of Rock Festival at Donnington, England. Metallica was squeezed in between two bands at that gig and those two bands are Ratt and Bon Jovi and James Hetfield the rhythm guitarist and vocalist for Metallica told the 70,000 people at the concert what to expect, “If you came here to see spandex, eye makeup, and the words 'Oh baby' in every song, this isn’t the band." From September of 1985 to the 12th of December of 1985 the band Metallica was in Copenhagen, recording their third album, but with producer Flemming, Rasmussen. In March of 1986 Metallica’s Master of Puppets was released. March 27, 1986 Metallica’s tour with Ozzy Osbourne started. This tour was very important for Metallica, supporting Ozzy Osbourne, as their popularity started continually increasing and they were ready to hit the big time and that tour was also their last supporting act.”( http://www.encycmet.com/biography/diary2.shtml)
“July 26th, 1986 shortly before a gig in Evansville, Indiana, James Hetfield broke his wrist in a skateboarding incident. The show that day was cancelled and during the rest of the tour James was singing with his arm up in a sling while John Marshall stood in on guitar.
