Be Relaxed in Slavonia
The moment you step into the eastern part of Croatia, you will be surrounded by golden cornfields and numerous lakes and rivers. There is no chance that you will be able to miss Slavonski Brod, the best place for relaxation. Being proud how my town remained during homeland war and being confident of its inhabitants, brings the joy and thrill in my heart.
Slavonski Brod is a peaceful and quiet city. The Sava River forms a beautiful ring around the town. It is interesting how Sava streams just a few steps away from its main square. Sometimes I walk to the waterway to think. The run makes me calm and relaxed.
I am very satisfied with the people living in Slavonski Brod. People have such a close connection and keep together all the time. That has been normal for Slavonski Brod for ages and really fulfills me. Residents give a special attention to their zero category monument called Brod Fortress. It is a large castle in the shape of a star. The waterway that streams around creates an interesting sight and unwinds my eyes.
Brod always welcomes fairs and exhibitions on the large town square called Korzo. It is the largest square in Croatia and the essence of the town. Fields, swamps and streams away from a city rush seem to be taken away from a fairy tale. The smell and vision of those nature gifts makes everybody peaceful and breathless. It is a perfect getaway.
I can be proud of being born in such a healthy envronment.Every trip home seems like a dream to me.Slavonski Brod might be the fifth largest city in Croatia, but it is still number one in my heart.
