I believe that television has a lot of influence in the community. Television gives us a different idea of our surroundings and how its works, but not everything is cute like TV makes it seem. When people see TV programs or a movie they are affected in different ways. For example, when a child sees an action movie that is very graphic and shows and has a lot of killing in it. The child usually tends to imitate what he or she saw. That is why we see many young kids playing violently with one another. Video games are another example of how TV affects our community. There are many video games that show a lot of violence in a graphic way. For example the game “Gears of Wars” has a lot of violence in it, guns and bombs are the core of the game. “Scarface” is a movie that carries a lot of violence. Through out the whole movie the main idea is killing. When a child watches theses video games or these types of movies a child can pick up many bad examples.
Now a day, many young men can not live without TV, because they prefer to play video games and watch television or their to busy to trying to get the newest thing in technology. Young boys have lost communication with their parents because they spend most of their day isolated in their room disconnected from the world. My High School teacher once told us that in his time TV did not exist and during his free time he play outside or try to come up with something to do, and in those days families would have a lot of communication together. Now it is difficult to make time to talk to our parents, because of the time we spend in watching TV. My mother always tells my sisters and I that we can only watch television for two hour a day, now I understand the reason behind my mom telling us that. Television has played a big role in many families falling apart. In my opinion I think that TV has had a negative effect in our society.
