Dear Board of Education,

Did you know that one in three kids in Ockerman Middle School is overweight or obese?   In order for your students to reach their highest educational success, their food choices must get an “A.”   One way children are becoming obese at a young age is having unhealthy eating habits, including at our school.   Our school has lots of unhealthy foods such as fried foods like chicken, fries, and tater tots.   Everybody at our school is eating these unhealthy, poor, fatty foods and are more likely to become obese.   I have several arguments for you to consider having healthier lunches.

One reason I think we should have healthier lunches is because it gives us brain power.   Healthy foods like fruits, vegetables, meats, and pastas give us vitamins, proteins, and carbohydrates.   All these necessities help us concentrate in class, which results in better grades.   I’ve been searching for facts about this paper and I have found out that many schools are switching to healthier lunches.   One principle stated, “I have noticed the change in behaviors and better grades from students that eat healthier lunches.”   Healthy food also increases our metabolism, which can give us energy.   Some unhealthy foods have serotonin in them; they can cause you to get tired and become sleepy, which is bad.   Healthy foods can give you energy and help you stay awake to get more brain power.   Even though healthy food can give us brain power, it can also give us healthy bodies.

Another reason I think we should have healthier lunches is because healthy food gives us healthy bodies.   Healthy foods can actually make kids happier.   Kids that know they are eating good and healthy food become happier because they are doing a good job by making healthier food choices.   If kids eat healthy foods and have healthy bodies, then their cost of healthcare would be lower.   This is because they’re not at risk of health problems with result in high medical bills.   Healthy foods can fight...
