There are many differences and similarities of the written and movies version of “Sleepy Hollow”. The tough guy, Brome Bones suddenly has competition with the new school master Ichabod Crane for the girl of his dreams and for the town’s people on his side. The ridiculous matters that Ichabod gets into with Brome Bones, who eventually becomes his enemy, makes Brome Bones figure out his weak side. The weak side of Ichabod is scary stories. The scary stories Brome Bones tells enables ichabod to disappear into the night to the Headless Horseman, who awaits his arrival. The story never told what ever happened to the school master Ichabod Crane. Over all, both versions of “Sleepy Hollow” are similar in the way they show the setting and characters, But the Plot is really what set them apart.

The two versions of “Sleepy Hollow” are very similar, like Coke and Pepsi. The characters are described and presented the same. Also the conflicts and relationships between the characters are similarly shown. The major conflict in the story is between Brome Bones and Ichabod Crane which leads to a frowning end. The end in both versions of “Sleepy Hollow” leads to the same events and turn outs or futures of all characters. On the other hand there are a few differences between the two.

Even though they are both the same story, both formats of “Sleepy Hollow” are a little different. I first pointed out the characters act differently. In the play he is less of a coward and not very greedy. But in the movie he gets very frightened easily, especially by Brome Bones, and he seems greedy. Otherwise being a coward he has different personalities. In the movie Ichabod is kind and pleasant to the kids by not beating them. However, in the play he terribly beats the kids every time. Other than those differences the only big difference is the format of the story.
