The Liar   (1022 words)

“Beep-Beep, Beep-Beep” went my alarm at quarter past seven. I rolled over turned it off and sat upright in my bed. Stretching my arms and talking a great yawn I spotted the sun seeping through the gaps in my curtains. I slowly stepped out of bed and proceed towards the window to open the curtains. It saw that I was a glorious sunny day and not a cloud to be seen in the sky. This sight would normally evoke happiness and joy into my morning but on this occasion this wasn’t the case. I was going to have to go to school when I instead could be out enjoying the weather but I thought to myself sure everyone else will be in school so I might as well go in.

I got up and went about my normal pre-school routine but just as I was about to put on my uniform when Steve rang me. “Kev what are you up to today?” “Going to school like every one else” I replied. “No your not listen, I’m thinking of driving me, you and Karl down to Brittas for the day you in?” “Well I donno what if we get caught and what will I tell my Mum?” Don’t worry we can’t get caught, no one will be in cause of the weather and sure just lie to your Mum, say you have training or something.” “Ok ye, I’m in” “Great I’ll pick you up round the corner from yours at 8” “Cool.” I put the phone down, perhaps today wasn’t going to be as depressing as I had previously thought. I continued to put on my uniform and got a bag together with stuff to change into and ran down the stairs with excitement. Now I had to prepare the lie. As I was just leaving the house I shouted out to my Mum, “I’m off now and I’ll be home a little late I’ve rugby training after school is that ok?” “Yeah just don’t be too late” she replied
“Ok thanks mum.” Yes she had bought it I was free for the day the chances of me getting caught were so slim and I was full of confidence.
