This paper is about the innovations that occurred during the Industrial Revolution (IR). Textiles, used to make clothing, were one of the 1st things developed. Transportation went   from water to land with the invention of the railroads. The railroads were powered by steam power which is considered the greatest technical achievement of the IR. This paper will explore these innovations.
      During the IR there were many advances in the textile industry. Wool was the main fiber to be imported from places like china, Africa, and West Indies. These fibers were then bought and sold to spinners and weaves that made the fibers into thread to make clothing. Today we use a process that is similar.
      During the IR transportation went from water ways such as canals, to on land. On land railways begin to form. The railways connected industrial districts. These railways were reserved for the wealthy.
      Due to the invention of the railways there had to be a way to power the trains. This development was called steam power. Steam power is regarded as a great technical achievement during the IR stream is generated through hot water is then converted into energy. This is how steam power was used.
      There were some inventions during the IR that helped us invent things we need today. Those things that were created helped are society get where it is today. Things like the steam engine helped us discover the diesel engine. Railroads then it helped us ship foods goods across the country faster. The IR was an important part of United States history.
