IAD is an excessive computer use that interferes with daily life. Among the symptoms are trembling, anxiety; obsessive thinking about what is happening on the Internet; fantasies or dreams about the Internet; unintentional typing movements of fingers, affective disturbances such as depression and irritability, and interruption of social relationships. With the growing importance of the Internet in everyday life, more and more people are accessing various on-line resources each day, so the Internet-addiction scare increases.   The World Wide Web is the bottomless source of information, but for some people though - the net junkies – its benefits are becoming detriments. It is believed that certain people, due to the coincidence of circumstances, may be predisposed to developing an addiction to something, be it alcohol, heroin, gambling, shopping, or the Internet.
Some psychiatrists feel that, used in excess, the Internet can become hazardous to one's mental and physical health.   This is a crucial issue, which is widely discussed, particularly in the way whether or not to include it in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Medical Disorders. Psychiatrists found a certain resemblance between the Internet addiction and the redundant/superfluous gambling as no substances are used to cause dependence. However, the effects that the addiction can have on every aspect of the person's life are just as devastating as those of alcoholism. People access to the WWW more often and for longer periods of time than was intended, forgetting about the bedrock reality and their responsibilities completely. Thus, a person risks the loss of a significant relationship, job, educational or career opportunities because of excessive use of the Internet.
