Time | 1 | I have a time frame of 33 weeks to complete my assignment- this takes me till the end of term 3 and 3 more weeks after that. I have a time frame because my assignment is going to be marked and my assignment is to make a coffee table and present it with a folder. |
Quality | 2 | I feel quality is an important factor. The quality of the material should be very good and long lasting. I want my table to last for at least 3-4 years. I want my family to put the table in the house and be proud of it. Even when my friends visit us after a year or two, the table should appeal them in the same way it was before two years. |
Materials & Equipment | 3 | There are a lot of materials that I can use to design the table. The material I’ll be using is mild steel square tube (metal) with a glass top and metal sheet for the second layer of my table. Also the material and equipment should be in sufficient amount to be used for everyone. |
Skill | 4 | Skill is an important factor when working in the workshop, designing the table. The student must have the right skills to work in the workshop, i.e. how to use a grinder or a welding machine with proper gear on (safety goggles and ear muffs). |
Cost | 5 | I have a budget to keep. The material should be affordable and cheap, not too costly. School will be providing us with the materials required for designing the coffee table. |
Appearance | 6 | The table should be appealing to everyone. It should be grinded, welded properly and should be straight. The measurements should be taken accurately and should be well painted or powder- coated. |
