Pursuing a Dream
I have always been the type of person who believes their ambitions are too high, but that never stopped me from trying to fulfill them anyway.   So, a little longer than a year ago, I set for what it turned out to be the adventure of my life.
I have studied English since I was a child, and I have always wanted to travel abroad and have the opportunity of practicing it in an English speaking country. I have also always been a Disney lover. Little did I know that I would have the opportunity to combine my two passions.
Browsing the Internet I found out there was a program for college students to work for three months in the Walt Disney World Resort, so I decided I had to do it. After two months and two interviews with the recruiters, I was in. I have never been happier in my life. But then, the first problem appeared, my boyfriend. He was not sure about my going away for three months. He was afraid my trip would mean the end of our relationship. After several discussions, I told him that it was something I needed to do, that it had been my dream long before knowing him and I was going to do it, even if it meant jeopardizing our relationship. I was aware that it was a big risk, but I was decided to do anything to fulfill my dream.
I usually do not hesitate when taking risks. I consider both sides of the situation and I take all the risks I need in order to achieve what is best for me. But, as the departure day was getting closer, a lot of doubts appeared in my head. I have never lived alone, how am I going to do this? Am I really ready for this? What if I discover that it is too much for me? Finally, I decided that all the risks were worthy when it came to my dream, and even though it cost me my relationship, everything was worthy and those three months I spent in Disney were the best of my life.
In conclusion, I believe that the best life philosophy is: “Take risks:  if you win, you will be happy; if you lose, you will be wise.”
