“You may write me down in history”   meaning you may talk what you want about me to whomever you wish. “With your bitter, twisted lies,” change up your story; talk what you want about me.   “You may trod me in the very dirt” You can even push me in the dirt and step on me. “But still, like dust, I’ll rise” But after everything, just like dust rises in the air, I’ll rise. “Does my haughtiness offend you?” She stating does my superior manner offend you?   “Don’t you take it awful hard” Do not get mad that she is above you and bowing down to your level.   “’Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines diggin’ in my own back yard.” She walks like she is superior, as if she has plenty of money and is on another level.
“You may shoot me when your words, you may cut me with your eyes, you may kill me when your hatefulness, but still, like air, I will rise. “   You can call her anything you feel, give the meanest looks you can come up with and it will not affect her.
“Does my sexiness upset you?”   Does it...
