Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “The ultimate measure of man is not where he stands in moment of comfort, but where he stands at time of challenge and controversy.” If patriots didn’t stand strong in challenge and controversy America wouldn’t be the strongest country on the planet. One person that comes to mind when this quote is said is the one the only George Washington. This classic forefather stands tall in time of controversy by his legendary leadership, how he conquers all, and   is respected by everyone.
      In my opinion George Washington had to overcome varies of different thing just to solidify him as one of the top presidents of all time. As most of you know Mr. Washington became the first president in 1789. I bet you didn’t know he won the presidential job with no one voting against him in his both terms. This has never happen in another voting for the president. This remarkable man had to conquer in his first term as president some people asked for the states to be separated. George Washington took a big risk and made all the state be united thus making the United States of America.   Now this astonishing forefather conquers things outside his presidency. Like how he was a commander in the continental army in the 1877.   His men walk though Valley Forge they had many battle and if that wasn’t bad enough it was close to freezing temps. Not to mention they had little supplies. Not only did Washington overcome so many things he was a extraordinary leader.
The funny thing about leadership is that you either have it or you don’t but there’s no question George Washington had it. One of the things the started Washington career is how he was a daring leader as a commander in chief. One example is how he showed his amazing guts by leading his troop over the Delaware River and surprise attack in Trenton. He did this type of attack many times during the revolutionary war.
