God, Love of Others and Love of God

Christians do this because jesus said that this is the most important of all the commandments, and that through loving god, and worshipping him, the word og God will be spread to other people, so that they can feel gods love too.

How religious communities express their love for others.

For Christians, serving the community, may be one of these things:
Homes for orphaned children
Schools for street children
Hospices for the sick and dying
Homes for alcoholics and drug abusers
Shelters for the homeless
Care for those with AIDS
Leper communities
Day crèches
Care for the mentally ill
Soup kitchens

Mother Theresa’s prayer:

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace ;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, light;
Where there is sadness, joy;

In the missionaries of charity, sisters are truly showing love, as they are able to ‘love the unlovable’, ( those who have been rejected by others in the community. They also give of themselves to help others, and make sacrifices to serve the lord in the way that he wanted them ot ( love thy neighbour as thy self), and so are showing their love to god by doing what he wanted them to and following a good Christian life.
