World History I

7 May 2010                                                                   Project History History U.S.A.

We entered the war in 1918 and fought alongside the French and British in the trenches. We then made leaders from every country   sign a Neutrality Act. We passed this act to avoid involvement in a European War. The 3 rules of the Neutrality Act are no sale of weapons to any nation at war, no loans may be given to nations at war, and no U.S. citizen may travel on a ship of a warring nation. We don’t get along with Italy, Japan, or Germany. We created Pearl Harbor to keep us from getting attacked by Japan. Along with creating Pearl Harbor we created buildings, military schools, and a gun manufacturing plant. We are allied powers with Britain, France, Russia, China, and 45 other small nations.
We still remained neutral to protect us from democracy. Japan then became angry at us because we were interfering with them gaining colonies. To stop Japan from invading France, we banned the sale of iron, steel, and oil. Japan became even angrier. Japan’s general Tojo Hideki then ordered attack on us. We were attacked on December 7, 1941. They destroyed 19 ships, killed more than 2,400 people. After the event our leader Franklin D. Roosevelt asked congress to declare war on Japan. Before voting could take place Germany, Italy, and Japan declared war on us. Even though our leader Roosevelt didn’t get along with Churchill because he felt that he wanted to get more colonies for Britain they all became Allies with each other.
