Task: Discuss the factors that brought Americans together.

            Unity among Americans is very prudent and irreplaceable, it is the reason that we are at the apex of the world in nearly in all categories such as wealth since the U.S occupies the most billionaires in the world. As Abraham Lincoln, who was the 16th and one of the greatest presidents of all time, said “A nation divided cannot stand”. Internal conflict within one’s own country can prove to be catastrophic and result in a myriad of grim problems. Attempts at preserving unity are ever-present within the courses of history such as in religious matters, war times, and during periods of elevated nationalism.
                Religion ties us together by giving us something in common with one another, the common belief that there is higher being known as “God” that orchestrates our way of life. The First Great Awakening in the 1730’s was the first circumstance in which religion is being used as an indirect mean of uniting people through religious preaching. During this era George Whitefield, one of the greatest orators of his generation, was able to attract large crowds of unified people like a magnet attracting a metal. As one can see, religion plays a tremendous role in the unification of people because several different religions of the world still believe in a God of some kind or another.
              The United States of America would not be where it is today if we didn’t unite against our common enemies. The American Revolution (1775-1783) portrayed the extension of a mutual dissent among colonists against the tyranny of the British rule over the 13 colonies of America. Americans revolted against the British and went to war; however we were at a disadvantage due to Britain’s superior militia. This disadvantaged fixed since Americans cooperated with each other and knew how to use their territory in the best possible way to fight the opposing British forces. Great Britain had no choice...
