It was a gloomy day, the sky cover in dark clouds, as I the shepherd, carries on with my daily chores, news form the king and queen of Laios that my acquaintance is require that afternoon. Not knowing what the king and queen desire of me, I quickly finish the work at hand and prepare to meet my king. Arriving at the castle gates, two of the king personal guard escort me to his Hines chamber. Walking down the strait hall way, my heart never stop pounding, uncertain might happen of the outcome. Upon greeting the king, I was given a secrete task, is to discard the king new infant child, because the prophet tell, the infant will bring a great threat and the destruction to our kingdom. Without any question I agree the king request.
  With out a word, I secretly carry the infant out the castle and into a nearby forest to fulfill my king wishes. On the way to the forest, looking at the innocent infant I keep telling myself that, I the king most trusted shepherd must carry on with the mission. Meanwhile, guilt and anxiety is building inside throughout the whole trip. As I lay the infant down next to a tree stump, looking at the baby, guilt just explode in my mind and heart. Feeling guilty so bad, the next thing I know that I was on my way to another shepherd in the next town to give him the infant. Since my fellow shepherd never had any kid he gladly accept the baby, and form that day on that the last I see of or herd of the infant again.
As I report the news to king and queen of my mission, relief yet sorrow sprung from faces, for having to give up their new born son for the sake of the city. Once again piece was restore to our kingdom, until many year later our kingdom was raid by a Sphinx, a mythical creature that will only leave if the kingdom can answer it riddle. Many have tried, none were right and all was eaten. Once more our kingdom turns the prophet for a solution. Traveling to the great prophet, we were ambush and a large ban of bandit everyone was kill,...
