The movie “crash” deals with a series of intertwining events that involve many different parties. Their correlation and interrelations begin and end with the accidental automobile crash, throughout the story a sequence of crashes, both literal and metamorphic takes place. The film describes a police detective with a drug addicted mother and an apt to steal younger brother, two car thieves who are constantly theorizing on society and race ( one of which is the detectives younger brother), the white district attorney and his highly aggravated and pampered wife, a racist white veteran cop who disgusts his more optimistic younger partner, a successful Hollywood director and his wife who must deal with the racist cop, a Persian-immigrant father who buys a gun to protect his shop, a Hispanic locksmith and his young daughter who is afraid of bullets that the Persian shop owner later tries to direct on them. Throughout the movie they go through a series of allegories,   three off the crashes I observed were   acts of racism yielding inspiration that we can overcome the stereotypes and prejudices associated to help others in need. Another main point that the film emphasizes is that family comes first; the time spent with the ones you love is important and can never be replaced, so it is crucial to enjoy it while it lasts because we never know when it will end. The last point may be the most important one because it provides a blueprint for how we should treat others; treat others with the respect that you command for yourself. Respecting others without assumptions and accusations is the key to a better relationship with others.

          Racism exist throughout almost every scene within the film, however one example from the movie stands out more than others.   The characters of the white racist cop and the Hollywood director are most intriguing because of the direct bigotry that occurs and the lasting negative effect that it has on the victims.
