The Lion King
A Plot Summary

The Lion King kicks off in the beautiful pride lands. Rafiki, a wise old monkey christens Simba, the newborn son of the King Mufasa and his wife Sarabi. He then holds him up over Pride Rock to show him proudly to all the cheering animal kingdom.
The next scene we see Mufasa showing young Simba all of the kingdom. He tells him about the Circle of Life, and how it affects everybody.
Scar, Simba's scheming uncle, is very angry that Simba has knocked him out of the next place in the line of the throne. he tells Simba about an elephant graveyard. Simba does not know that thats where the hyennas live, and that the hyennas are very hungry. he asks his mother if he and his best friend, Nala can go tothe water hole. their mothers 'agree, but only if Zazu, Mufasa's assistant goes with them. Simba and Nala disobey Zazu, and go to the graveyard. ("I Can't Wait To Be King") There, they meet Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed,   the hyennas who try to eat them but Mufasa rescues them. On the way home, Mufasa tells Zazu to take Nala home so he can "teach his son a lesson". Once they are alone, Mufasa tells him that he is very disappointed with him. He not only disobeyed him, but he put his and Nala's lives in danger. He explained that being brave doesn't mean going around looking for trouble. He told Simba that he was scared that he had lost him. Having reached an understanding, they played together in the grass. Simba asked his father if they would always be together, and Mufasa told him that the Kings of the Past are in the stars in the sky, and they were there to watch over him, and when Mufasa's time came so would he.
Meanwhile, Scar gains the loyalty of the hyennas by saying that if he becomes king, "they would never go hungry again". ("Be Prepared") Scar tells the hyennas that to make that happen, they would have to kill Mufasa and Simba and devised a plan.
