In literature, as in life, conflict is a struggle between two opposing forces. Everyday people deal with conflicts with their peers. This struggle can be external conflicts between two characters or groups, or it can be an internal conflict. In the play Macbeth there are both examples of external and internal conflicts. Macbeth is faced with many conflicts throughout the play, internal and external.

There were many external forces that influenced Macbeth on making his major

decision. The decision was whether or no to kill, to become king. These forces were the

apparitions, and Lady Macbeth. Her emasculating of Macbeth pushed him over the edge. In the end Lady Macbeth’s influence did lead to the murder of King Duncan. The apparitions influenced Macbeth by making him think he was invinc
