USA Today - http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadline/post/2010/11/san-francisco-bans-toys-from-unhealthy-kids-meals/1
San Francisco is banning free toys in kid’s meals high in sodium, fat and sugar.   The toys were not completely banned, however.   If a child orders a meal that is healthy they are allowed to give out toys.   This is for the companies to promote healthier eating for kids, and still be accountable if they decide not to follow through with the city’s decision.   They want to start promoting general health and fight against child obesity.
Time - http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,2030383,00.html
The city of San Francisco has decided to make a law against giving free toys in kid’s meals that exceed certain amounts of calories, sugars or fats.   This is making parents furious and children are probably feeling the same way.   The real question is, will fast-food try to promote healthy eating to kids, or will they just try to focus on making money?   The problem with the ban is that it just doesn’t go far enough.   Kids don’t get fat because they eat too many happy meals; it’s just the kids’ diet in general.   The toys in the happy meals aren’t the only thing kids like; they enjoy the packaging more than anything.   They get a sense that everything in that little box is theirs and they love that concept.

*There is a difference in tone from the 2 articles.   The USA Today article has a much more lax tone and seems to not care as much about the issue at hand, compared to Time’s article.
