Wrong Side

A man went to see a psychiatrist.   The psychiatrist made him comfortable, and then said,   “Now tell me, what’s the problem?”
“I keep getting this recurring dream, Doctor,” the man said.
“Suppose you tell me all about it,” said the psychiatrist.
“Well,” said the man, “in this dream, I’m standing in front of a door.   There is a huge notice on it.   But it just won’t open.   I keep pushing and pushing, but the door just won’t budge.   There is a bunch of keys handing on a nail next to the door.   I tried every one.   Oh, they turn in the lock, but they just won’t open the door.”
“Hmmm,” said the psychiatrist.   “Tell me more.”
“There’s nothing more to tell.   I’m getting fed up of this dream.   I’ve been having it for the past two months or so.   I know that recurring dreams must be something to do with my problems in daily life, but I just can’t figure out what.   You’ve got to help me,” the man said frantically.   “I can’t eat, I dread going to sleep because I know this dream will recur and I can’t do anything about it because I just don’t understand it at all.”

The doctor looked at him.   “You said you were pushing the door, and it wasn’t opening.   Is that right?”
“Yes,” said the man.   “No matter how hard I push the result is the same.   The door just won’t move.   I tried putting my shoulder to it once.   I even came running from a distance and banged into it.   Same result.”
“What does the notice on the door say?” asked the psychiatrist.   “You haven’t told me what it said.”
The man looked at him as if thunderstruck.   “It says ‘Pull’,” he said, wonderingly.

Could it be that you are approaching your problem from the wrong side?   It might be that you have not read all the signs.

In life, there are signs everywhere.   Read them first.   Then attempt to solve whatever is in front of you.

With God’s help, of course.

Kenny Elisha.
