Living Abroad?!

Ever thought about living abroad? If so, here is some information on three differences between living in Holland and living in the United States ,beside the obvious language difference. The first difference is that the United States are a lot bigger than Holland. The second difference is the school system and the third difference is that the way people should behave is slightly different.

The first difference would be that the United States are a lot bigger than Holland. That may seem a little obvious, but that also means that things are further apart, so this means that people in the United States have other ways of transportation than the people in holland. In Holland people usually ride their bikes to go somewhere, if it is close by. In the US, people tend to go places by car, also if they are near to their homes. because the distances are a lot greater, the schools have to be organized differently.

The second difference is the high school system. In Holland   middelbare school (high school) is divided into three levels a student can go to: VMBO, HAVO and VWO. VMBO is the level a student usually goes to when they are better working with their hands. VWO is the level a student often goes to when they   are better at thinking, and HAVO is a kind of in between. In the US,   there are no separate levels. for each subject, you can choose per subject what level you want, within certain areas of subjects, like social studies, science, art and math. for each of those areas you have to have a certain amount of credits. you earn credits by passing a course. a year long course is worth one credit. at school your behavior also formed, and there are some slight differences there.

The third and final difference is the social etiquette, the way people think is acceptable to behave. One of the main differences is that in the US people are more polite. That may sound weird, but it is true. if people go to almost any store, the employees there will...
