Abstract

      The research topic focuses on the budget of Terrell city in the financial year 2009-2010. it talks of some of the components that have an impact on the yearly budget such as the expenditure, tax among others. The budget of Terrell city in the financial year 2009-2010 is seen to have a major increase as compared to the other fiscal years and this causes impact to the citizens of Terrell city. The budget is also seen as a challenge to the government and also the city environs but due to proper management practices, all is handled well.

      Terrell is a city that is found within the state of Texas. Budget here is usually done on a yearly basis such that the citizens of Terrell city would be able to understand their economy well. Thus the budget of the fiscal year 2009-2010 was estimated to be about $32 million and this is seen as an increase of 3% of the budget of the fiscal financial year 2008-2009. Even though this budget has been a challenge to the city, the structure of the revenues, fiscally conservative policies and management practices have helped gain the city a better shape as compared to others.
      Some of the revenues and expenditures necessary for conducting the affairs Terrell’s city include the general fund, utility fund, airport fund, tourism fund capital improvement fund among many others. They provide the necessary financial plan that is needed for the fiscal year 2009-2010. Funds are allocated to cater for the actual expenses where in the case of Terrell city an approximate of $32 million is allocated for the payment of these expenditures.
