White hair can be caused by a variety of different issues, ranging from stress to diet. Most often, it is due to simple genetics and the aging process. Some individuals are more prone to premature gray or white hair than others. While you can't drastically alter your body's tendency to grow gray or white hair, there are certain things you can do to decrease the likelihood that your hair will go gray. If your hair is naturally dark, you can employ these methods to prevent white hair and grow dark hair. You can also dye your hair to cover any white or gray hairs you do experience.

  Relax. Excess stress can exacerbate premature gray and white hair. Avoid taking on more than you can handle. Employ breathing exercises and meditation techniques to promote feelings of relaxation and calm in your life.
