Barack Obama Biography

                              Nicholas Frazee

    Barack Obama is a U.S. Senator for the state of Illinois.   He is a member of the Democratic Party, and is seeking the parties’ nomination to run for U.S. President.
    Mr. Obama was born On August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii.   His parents are Barack Obama Sr., a native of Kenya, and S. Ann Dunham of Kansas
    When he was two-years old his parents divorced, his father moved back to Kenya and he only saw his father once more before his father’s death in 1982.   His mother re-married and moved the family to Jakarta.   Later when Obama turned ten-years old he moved back to Hawaii, being cared for by his grandparents, then his mother. He returned for a better education.
    Obama studied at Occidental College in California for two years.   He transferred to Columbia University in New York, where he majored in political science and specialized in international relations.   After graduation he moved to Chicago where we began community organization in the Altgeld Gardens housing projects.
    He left Chicago to study law at the Harvard University.   While at Harvard he was elected the first black president of the Harvard Law Review.   One summer while working at a corporate law firm in 1989, he met Michelle Robinson, who he married in 1992.   They both graduated from Harvard Law.
    When he was in Chicago as a community organizer once again, Barack organized an aggressive voter registration that aided the election of President Bill Clinton and Senator Carol Moseley Braun.   The campaign registered about 100,00 voters.   Obama worked at a local civil rights law firm, were he also served as a professor at the University of Chicago, lecturing about constitutional law until his election to the U.S. Senate.
    Barack Obama was sworn in on January 5, 2005 as a Senator.   Obama drew praise by his attempts to avoid the limelight.   The Higher Education Opportunity was Obama’s first proposed Senate...
