The Great Pyramid of Egypt

“Man fears time, yet time fears the Pyramids”. At the city of Giza, the Great Pyramid of Khufu, standing for more than 5 millenniums, build by more than 100,000 people in one pharaoh’s life time, has been the greatest mystery in the ancient world. People question a lot about their size, shape, height, location and time period. Solving one of the seven wonders in the ancient world has been more difficult than many historians believe.



  A pyramid is an enormous construction, which helps the king go through immortality and the wall of the dead and live forever in the happiness of the gods. The Ancient Pyramids of Egypt will always remind us of the architectural accomplishments of Egypt’s Old Kingdom. A pyramid drew resources from throughout the king’s domain and beyond.



  There are many theories about the Ancient Pyramids, but only two are of greater importance. The two theories surround the construction of the Great Pyramid of Egypt. The first theory, suggested by experts, suggests that slaves were forced under daily hard labor to work until the task was completed. The more logical and more supported theory, however, suggests that the Great Pyramid of Egypt was built by hundreds of skilled workers who camped near the pyramids and worked for a salary until the construction of the pyramid was completed. During that time, the Nile’s annual flood, which made it impossible for the Egyptians to farm the land and most workers were unemployed. Khufu-the pharaoh, provided good food and clothing for the workers that were willing to build his pyramid, and he was kindly remembered in folk tales for many centuries.
