* PHYSICS – Magnetism
      * What is a magnetic domain?
-Large group (billions) of electrons that are spinning the same direction, aren’t paired up.   Super imposed upon one another, forms a domain.
      * Permanent Magnet- one that does not need an electric current running through it, can act on its own.
      * On a micro level, what is the difference between a non-magnetized nail and a magnetized nail?
-same magnetic field alignment, caused by multiple charges that are moving the same way
      * Why drop the magnet?
Demagnetizes it, breaks up the clusters of domains.
      * Why does a piece of iron in a current-carrying loop increase the magnetic field strength?
induced charge?
      * Supermagnetic = no resistance
      * Maximum deflecting force= when force is perpendicular
minimum deflecting force = when force is parallel
      * What effect does earth’s magnetic have on the intensity of cosmic rays striking earth’s surface?
Northern lights.. Cosmic rays being deflected by earth’s magnetic fields.. Particle belts
      * Galvanometer is a electric meter that can be calibrated to measure many things (volts, amps, ohms)
-one magnet can be made to find changes in another magnet.. when current runs through it causes a movement in charge which causes a magnetic field
  * Earth’s Magnetic Field
      * What is meant by magnetic declination?
        * How much true North is off from magnetic North
      * Why are there probably no permanently alighned magnetic domains in Earth’s core?
        * Probably because the   molten iron (other materials) keep moving around
      * Cause of “Northern Lights”?
        * Trapping of charged particles in Earth’s magnetic field (they come from the sun)
      * Other creatures that have internal magnets
        * Birds
        * Nanobacteria
        * Lobsters
        * People
  * Electromagnetic Reaction
      * What did Michael Faraday and Joseph Henry discover?
        *...
