Why is Catherine of Siena Remembered Today?

Catherine of Siena is remembered for numerous things she had done. She is also remembered for her prayer. She had the virtue of Prayerfulness, which give people a calm, deep understanding of oneself and others. She also had Purposefulness, which was knowing what one wanted to achieve. Catherine had Patience and Responsibility as well.
Prayerfulness is not exactly a virtue, according to VirtueScience, but it is simply being prayerful towards God, and being very aware of His Authority. Prayerful people usually show hope, calmness, and happiness. Catherine of Siena was a very prayerful woman, so much so that so even received Stigmata in 1375. She also cared for the sick and people in need with the worst diseases.
According to VirtueScience, purposefulness is “Having a Definate Goal”. This can sometimes be associated with becoming ‘single-minded’. Catherine of Siena’s main goal was to get the Papacy to move back to Rome from Avignion. She noted that Rome was the spiritual home of the Papacy, as – legend had it – St Peter’s bones were directly under the centre altar. For almost eight years she was determined to move the Papacy back to Rome, which used a lot of patience.
Patience is the virtue (and ability) to endure a very long wait to get what one wants to achieve. While this is happening, one is not complaining. Catherine of Siena was a very patient woman. This is because, as mentioned in the last paragraph, she waited a full seven years to achieve what she wanted. In 1377, Pope Gregory XI (from the impression of Catherine) decided to move the Papacy back to Rome, even with the French King Gregory.
