Every two minutes, a woman in America is raped. By the time our presentation is done, more than ten women, will have been sexually abused…
While researching our topic, we found some shocking statistics:
  * The FBI estimates that 72 of every 100,000 females in the United States were raped last year.
  * Approximately 28% of victims are raped by husbands or boyfriends, 35% by acquaintances, and 5% by other relatives.
  * 1 in 6 women and 1 in 33 men will be sexually assaulted in our lifetime… according to this statistics 4 girls in this class may be sexually abused. It could be a friend…
  * ONLY 6% of rapists will spend even just ONE DAY in jail.
Many victims do not admit to being raped, and therefore, many rapes go unreported, and the aggressors roam free with no consequences.
According to the U.S. Justice Department statistics 60% of all rapes or attempted rapes are not being reported to law enforcement officials.
One of the most startling aspects of sex crimes is how many go unreported. The most common reasons given by women for not reporting these crimes are the belief that it is a private or personal matter and the fear of reprisal from the assailant.
Another reason most victims stay silent, is because there family and or friends are threatened. They stay quiet out of fear and guilt.
The sexual abuse of a child should never be "just a family matter," but many children are afraid to report an incident to the police because the abusers are too often a family friend or relative.
Or it can just be denial…
This was written by a victim of rape who admitted to being in denial
The common physical injuries received by rape victims include:
  * vaginal bleeding or infection
  * fibroids which are noncancerous tumors that develop in the uterus
  * decreased sexual desire ( you lose a lot of sexual desire and become afraid of intimacy)
  * genital irritation
  * pain during intercourse
  * chronic pelvic pain
  * urinary tract...
