Causes of Battery Drain in BlackBerry:
Vibrating Phone:
It’s pretty well known by this point that a vibrating cell phone is a battery draining cell phone .Vibration functionality adversely impact battery life if used excessively.  Your application should not be designed in such a way that could cause the device to vibrate in a constant or near constant manner.
Opened Applications in Background:
Do you just hit the “END” button to exit out of programs like Google Maps, Zumobi, Viigo, or any Website which automatically reloads? That means the app is still running in the background. And if it’s pulling data from your connection, it means you’re going to be in for some serious battery drain.
Thankfully, this is an easy fix. Just make sure to hit the menu button, and then close the application when you’re done. Not only will your BlackBerry run a bit quicker, since the program won’t be taking up memory, but you’ll also save yourself some battery life.
WIFI:
WIFI is also one main cause if it’s ON and there is no WIFI connection nearby. You don’t want to be constantly searching for WiFi signal when none exists. Uncheck the box, and only check it when you know you’re within the range of WiFi.
Bluetooth:
Unfortunately, the Bluetooth connection is another drain on the battery. Turn it ON only when required.
Low Network Signal:
Can also be a reason on places such as in an office, residence or rural area with low signal coverage because in those cases device continuously searching for signals as a result drains battery faster.
GPS:
GPS drains the battery a lot but it also depends on the app. Some app constantly get GPS and drains battery very fast, some does not and you cannot feel the battery drain.
