History + Introductions
The Conservative party is the largest political party in the United Kingdom and holds the largest single party in the House of Commons.   The first founding fathers began the party in 1834 out of the old Tory party in 1678 and consisted of conservatism and unionism.   In 1912, the Conservative party merged with the Liberal Unionist Party and a name change followed into the Conservative and Unionist Party.   In the late 20th century, Margaret Thatcher, the former leader, bestowed principles of a strong free market and Eurosceptic liberalisation.   By 2010, the party was returned to a more liberal leader, David Cameron.   Now, the conservative party leads a coalition government in the House of Commons between the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats. In opposition towards the Conservative party, n the late nineteenth century was the rise and fall of harsh working and living conditions which gave the Labour party the rise of power.   Throughout its history, the Labour party has maintained the entity of being a left wing or centre-left party in its political stance.   Currently, many observers believe the Labour party should be described as Social Democratic rather than Socialist because of its adoption of free market policies and less of its socialist positions in democracy.

A political party is a party where a group of like-minded individuals are organized one unit to gain power necessary to control the government of the country.   Within society, the Conservative party belief in the maintain order which places every person in a hierarchical structure.
