  The article mentions different people who are all in one way or the other connected to single-sex schools. The study, by The Good Schools Guide found that those who sat GCSEs in single-sex schools all did better than could have been predicted by their scores at the end of primary school. Attending a single-sex school is likely to have a positive impact on girls ‘academic performance’. But a lot of parents think that girls should learn to prepare for the world of work and life with boys, because after their study they have to work and life with boys and girls.

  E. Personal opinion

  I think that girls can learn better without having boys around, because their concentration in class is much better. Therefore they get better exam results.   But in my opinion coed schools are better than single-sex schools. The benefit of coed schools is the fact that girls and boys are educated side by side, preparing them for the world of work and life. I think that when they are 16 and older, such social considerations may be more important than getting better exam results. Secondly, I think that single-sex schools are old fashioned and outdated.
