The Innocent Victims
In today’s society, divorce is more the norm than ever before.   Fifty percent of all marriages end in divorce.   Divorce, once uncommon in our society, is now becoming more and more frequent, disrupting our children's state of well-being.   Some children of divorced families have long-term behavior problems such as depression, low self-esteem, poor school performance, acting out, and difficulties with intimate relationships.   Children with divorced or divorcing parents often have a sense of abandonment, because their parents become too preoccupied with their own psychological, social, and economic distress that they forget about their kid’s needs.  
A divorce in the family creates a major life changes for most children.   In 1988, Professor Jeanne Dise-Lewis conducted a survey of 700 middle school students.   The students were asked to rate certain events as to the stress they causes.   The death of a parent or close family member was the only thing that outranked divorce.   Loss of contact with friends, schoolmates, neighbors, teachers, and sometimes moving to a new location may bring several psychosocial stresses.   Despite the ample evidence on children from divorced families have more behavior, emotional, health and academic problems than other children in intact families.  
Children tend to have a harder time coping with a divorce.   The more divorces their parents go through, the more problematical it is for the children.   Since many children do not adjust well, their behavior is affected significantly.   The transformation is devastating for many children and it affects them for the rest of their life.   Divorce of a parent can causes many problems and affects children negatively such as poor relationship skills, deprived academics, angry issues, and as well as depression.   The kids lose such things as support from the parent in finances, emotions, and care.   Fewer problems will arrive if...
