Dear Mum and Dad
What can i say? Life has been exciting and i miss you so much.

I have been attacked by Nazi’s and saved by lovely people. I met a girl called Zelda whose parents died from gun shots. I have made a Nazi officer laugh. I have jumped out of a train with Nazis shooting at me and a friend called Chaya passed away.

I am sorry that i left the orphanage but i thought the Nazi’s were going to burn all your books. I know you cannot read this but i hope you did not go down without a fight. I pray to God, Jesus, the Virgin Mary and the Pope that you died peacefully and full of dignity.

I meet a guy called Barney who told me “everybody deserves to have something good in their life. At least once” and i believe him. Barney was a dentist who was spending his time in a cellar looking after kids whose parents were killed by the Nazi’s. The young girl Zelda and the other kids loved my stories about you. I still have the book you gave me. It’s all torn dirty and wet but i still have it.

Zelda and i are on the run and are trying to get away as far as we can from the Nazis. I have found a ‘Just William” book and i gave it to Zelda, she loves it.   I used to pray to Adolf Hilter but now know that he is a mad, crazy Jew killer and i am sorry.

I have been to hell and back for you but it was worth it. I miss you so much Mum and Dad.
