The society we live in is a very sophisticated system with millions of hard-to-explain processes and rules. It’s obvious that if a man wants to fulfill himself in   life, if a man wants to become a worthy member of the society he belongs to, he should understand it very well. Over the whole period of human evolution people tried to find out how the society is functioning, what are the main principles and methods of its operation? Cumulative knowledge has increased and has finally generated a new science called sociology.
      Sociology is one of the human sciences. It is the study of humanity and society which is based upon awareness of culture, psychology, politics, economy and etc. There is no doubt that all these fields of knowledge partly overlap and relate a lot to each others, but nevertheless each of them have their own subject, area, methods of analysis. As for sociology it differs from other sciences by various particularities.
      Sociology begins with the idea of the wider social networks and societies within which individuals are to be found. Sociology is a science studying regularity of society’s establishment, action and development. It focuses on particularities of organization, working processes and evolution of social institutions, groups, communities. The key-issue of sociology is a category called “social”. To be “social” means to be part of “common” and “public”, to be significant to the society.   Sociologists study social relationships as a technique of social links and social interaction between people, groups or communities.
      Sociology examines different parts of social sphere. It studies all problems concerning human activity (social roles, statuses, attitudes, positions, and priorities), necessities, expectations, value orientations, their realization degree, attitudes to social processes, people and social structure in general.
