Due 9/20 at the beginning of class

You have three things to complete

  1. First, look up the definition of your term, using TWO credible sources. One source MUST be a book source. (Webster’s, American Heritage, Oxford English Dictionary, etc)

  2. To understand the connotation of the word, also look up synonyms for the word using a credible THESAURUS.

  3. Finally, look up the ETYMOLOGY and HISTORY of the word. Use a source like www.etymonline.com or the English Oxford Dictionary to look up the etymology of the word.

Your TYPED homework should include the SOURCE and the entry you found for each of the dictionary entries, thesaurus, and word history entries.

Although this assignment is not due until MONDAY 9/20, you will need this research information for your prewriting.
