Many believe that the American Dream still exists, while others claim that the American Dream is something has been redefined and isn't what it use to be.   " The American Dream is freedom, prosperity, peace-and liberty justice for all. It's not always easy to achieve but that's the ideal," says Donald Trump when he was asked about what he believes the American Dream is to him.   John Zogby, is an American political pollster and CEO of Zogby International which is known for both phone polling and interactive, internet-based polling. Zogby wrote several articles for Forbes regarding what the people believe the American Dream is to them, coming to a conclusion that there are four categories of the American Dream; Traditional Materialists, Secular Spiritualist , Deferred Dreamers and the Dreamless Dead.Traditional Materialists are people who define the American Dream as material success. Secular Spiritualists are people who see it as spiritual fulfillment. Deferred Dreamers are people who believe that their children have more of a chance at reaching the American Dream then they are. Lastly the Dreamless Dead are those who claim that people that are middle class with never be able to achieve the American Dream. Since 2008, the categories stayed stable, but the percentage of the Dreamless Dead went up from 12% to 20% in 2010. Most of the Dreamless Dead included women, political independents and those who have no college degree, people that had the least earnings.  
The definition of the American Dream to the Americans has changed throughout the years. The second week of January in 2009, a poll was taken by Zogby International and the belief in the American Dream dropped from 67% to 56% after the election. The fact that the drop was 11 points shows that something is significant is happening.
