My name is Gina Alvarez and I am applying for the Community Health Promotion and Awareness Internship at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.   A copy of my resume is attached.

I am very interested in this internship and I think there is a good match between what you need and who I am and what I can do.   I have studied how to develop efficient print materials and facilitate group presentations, volunteered several times in churches to promote health issues as well with religious purposes, and I’m fluent in Spanish.   Coming from a single and independent mother, I was taught to work hard and make a difference.   I am a driven and passionate person who hopes to help the community become award of Leukemia and Lymphoma Cancer and help people learn better through education and promoting awareness.  

Cancer does not only attack the patient but to the entire family and relatives.   I was born with a heart condition and ever since I learned what exactly I have and how to improve my heart health, I been promoting physical activities and a well-nutritional diet.   To me, there is nothing more important than helping people become aware of the things that can affect them.

I am confident that I will be an active, open minded and useful member to your team, willing to contribute during my internship. I am therefore very excited in becoming an intern in your department.
