HOW TO REACH
The interiors of Sunderbans Tiger Reserve are accessible only through waterways. Regular motorboat services are available to reach Sunderbans from the embarkation points at Namkhana, Raidighi, Sonakhali and Najat.
From Namkhana: Sagar Island, 2.5 hours; Bhagabatpur Crocodile Project, 2.5 hours; and Jambudwip, 3.5 hours.
From Sajnekhali: Sudhanyakhali, 40 minutes; Holiday Island, 3 hours; Netidhopari, 3.5 hours; and Buridabri (Tiger Project Area), 5 hours.
From Sonakhali: Gosaba, 1 hour.
From Raidighi: Kalas, 5 hours

Getting Around
The WBTDC organizes guided tours- mostly of a duration of two or three days, starting and ending at Kolkata. They’re a good way of visiting Sunderbans without some of the adventure which accompanies making your own arrangements, and cost between Rs 1,000 and 3,000. Within Sunderbans, the only way to get around is by boat; you can take a boat ride, along with an official from the Project Tiger office. There are, in addition, watchtowers at a few places- such as Netidhopan, Sajnekhali, Sudhanyakhali and Haldi- from where you can keep a look out for passing wildlife.
Activities
The activities that can be taken advantage of at the Sunderbans are game viewing, boat cruise, royal Bengal Tiger spotting, wildlife photography.
