Mary J Blige was born on January 11, 1971, Bronx, New York, she is the second of four children born to parents Cora, a nurse, and Thomas Blige, a jazz musician. She won her first Grammy Awards for the Best Rap Performance.   She as nine Grammy Awards and American Music Awards, she is the only artist with Grammy Awards in pop, rap, Gospel and R&B. the reason why admire Mary J Bilge is because her music speaks to me, she inspiration to young woman by letting them know don’t give up on what they believed no matter what happens, and her life story is similar to my life to mine.
Mary j Blige is a strong woman because she showed me her purpose is to inspire women “to them to reach their own individual potential”.   The Blige center foundation offers scholarships and programs who aim towards foster self-esteem and career developments for woman.   And the foundation for the advancement of woman which raises money for various charities devoted to increasing AIDS awareness and fighting the disease. Blige foundation sends more women to college than any other foundations.
My life story is similar I did not have a father figure in my life I never meet my father in my life time. Blige father walked out on them and their mother when she was four. Even though I am not famous our story are similar in some type of way. I have two sister one brother and I am the second child out of   four kids.
