Personal Philosophy
In our lifetime we learn many things about love and about life. We learn how to handle different situations and how to treat our loved ones even when the times are easy. Though each lesson we learn is different, they all share a common message. Treat everyone the way they deserve to be treated. Not only is this the golden rule, but it is a rule that should be followed by all people on this planet. We also learn about giving back to the community that has helped us get where we are today. Another concept I know is never showing any prejudice to anyone at any time for any reason. These three concepts have helped me over the years be a better person and have taught me to love everyone.
The “golden rule” is something you hear about often. It is the idea that you should treat everyone the way you want to be treated. Over the years many people teach this rule to us. It may be our family, friends, or even just a billboard outside on the street. But for me it was my Grandma. She told me long ago that everyone is trying to achieve the same goal. That goal is happiness. And the only way for everyone to be happy was to treat all people, did not matter weather you knew them or not, how they would like to be treated. I chose this because I think this is the most important message our society has to offer. If we are nice to all people then less people get hurt. I see people all the time who are on the streets and down on their luck. They have had a rough life, and are in need of change. To most people these street urchins are nothing. Some would even say “why help those who wont help themselves.” But to me I say we should give to them with all of our heart, mind, and soul. Maybe then we will all be able to live together happily.
