Sermon: Jesus Grew in Wisdom, Structure and in Favor of Man

I thank God for giving us this wonderful opportunity to worship him because so often Angels are the ones who worship and glorify God, not we sin-full beings.

It’s always a pleasure to be in the house of the lords that's why the David said,” I rejoiced with those who said to me, let us go to the house of the lord” (Psalm 122). So tonight, I hope by the time we conclude we’ll all agree with David and say “I rejoiced with those who said to me, let us go to the revival at North Bronx and worship the lord”.

You know, its Friday night, we can all be at a party, night club and all these other places but we chose to come to church to worship God. You know, when we go to such places the holy spirit is not with us, we are under no protection, we do and act however we want; but when we come to church and we have Jesus as our lord and personal savior, God promise us in Psalm 121:5 saying,
  He the lord will watch over us
  He will be the shade at our right hand;
6 the sun will not harm us by day,
  nor the moon by night.
7 He will keep us from all harm—
  he will watch over our life;
8 He will watch over our coming and going
  both now and forevermore.

So brothers and sisters, let us strive to be in the presence of God all the time, so that we can get this ultimate protection God has assured us.

Today our scripture reading will be found in Luke 2:52.
“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men”

Luke chapter 2 basically summarized the entire childhood of Jesus, form his birth to his teens; the chapter then ends with an impressive verse which outlines four important things that completes a man.

The verse gives us four important things that man needs in order to be complete.

First - is the mental aspect of man, which is wisdom
Second – physical aspect which is stature
Third – spiritual aspect which is God
Fourth – social aspect which is man.

If that the case, I believe we can say Jesus grew/increased...
