The Name
Your written name is pretty much you and your life. When you sign of put your name on anything it pretty much indicates that whatever the object is somewhat related to you in a way. Many people have situations on their name that make them look bad. In the book, “The Crucible” John Proctor is a man that really loves his name. He was put to death because of himself not putting his signature on that legal document. It had cost him his life but he didn’t want people to know that he had an affair with a child named Abigail. John wanted to die as an innocent person than being alive and having signed to adultery. Everyone in this world has signed their name to something. It is practically impossible to have not signed anything because you are alive and you know you have put your name on at least one thing in your lifetime.
I have signed my name to thousands of things. Every single paper I have worked on for school has my name on it and it reflects how good I do. There have been times where I have had to sign something for court because I got into a little bit of trouble for idiotic incidents. When you sign legal documents that have to do with the law don’t go on your permanent record. They get rid of your record when you are 18. I don’t really know what it means to put your signature on something yet because everything that I have put my name on isn’t that important in my life. There are some things that I have put my name for that are important like the PSAT and other kinds of tests. Probably the biggest things at this point are my signature on my credit card and on my driver’s license. Besides that stuff there hasn’t really been a time where I haven’t wanted to sign something because I would be afraid of how it would look on me.
Someone who has lost all their respect because of signing something like John Proctor probably doesn’t enjoy life very much for the cruel thing they signed their name too. Like sex offenders have to sign something that makes them...
