Lowes is a retail store in America that specializes in home improvement. They started as a small retail store in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, and expanded worldwide. Dawning the colors red and blue, Lowes is known as the 2nd best selling home improvement retail worldwide. Boasting millions and millions of customers in a single week, Lowes continues to improve every day to remain an excellent place to shop and a happy place to work.
The products Lowes sell include plumbing, lumber, garden, millwork, hardware, appliances, paint, power equipment, and home décor. They offer more products by special order if customers don’t see what they like in the store. The store gains sales on products through their web base. “The organization is leading towards the web base,” says Tina Price, a sales manager who has worked at Lowes since 2003. “Thus, expanding installations and broadening the variety of our products we sell at Lowes.”
This retail chain is known for the big rivalry they have with Home Depot, which is also a Home Improvement store. According to sales figures provided by Yahoo Finance, Home Depot currently leads the market as the top home improvement retail in the U.S., while Lowes is 2nd. However, according to Yahoo, Lowes is not far behind and could possibly lead the market in the long run. One of the key things these two competitors focus on is location.
If you happen to see a Home Depot store, then its likely that a Lowes store is around the corner. “I feel that by having this store here since 2008, we made it more easier for people who live in Colonial Heights, Prince George, and Petersburg to shop at Lowes instead of just going to Home Depot,” says Brian Fox, a store manager of Lowes in Prince George, who worked his way up from starting as a department manager in 2000. “We are also recommended as the top retailer for Military bases like Fort Lee.” When one store opens in a new location, the other would follow and open there as...
