On the 18th March 2011, 40 students of the UTHM departed for Malacca, the historic state. It took us about 2 hours and 30 min to reach Malacca. We stayed in Grand Continental Hotel.
  There, we ate lunch in the hotel. After that, we went to our respective rooms. In this way, we had used two learner profiles which are Open Minded and Caring. After that, we went to ‘Kampung Cantik’. The words ‘Welcome to Kampung Cantik’ that was written on the signboard really made us felt welcome. This place is actually located near to Batu Berendam. There were very nice activities going on. It started off with a traditional martial art called silat. They showed 3 different styles, solo with weapon, pair with no weapon and pair with weapon. It was very enjoyable. Then we went to watch the kampong people played the traditional tops. After that, the kampong people taught us how to make ‘ketupat’. We buy to brought home. At that time, they were selling the tops that they were playing. Each top for RM10.We walked into the kampong to look at the houses. Before that, we were divided into 6 groups.Once more,   we learnt to accept other people differences. That way, we used the Open Minded learner profile.
    After that, we departed for the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple. Cheng Hoon Teng Temple is also known as the Temple of the Bright Clouds. The whole construction covers an area of 4,600 square metres. A huge complex, made up of small altar areas built around a central edifice, the whole area smelled deliciously of flowers and incense. Next, we go to JonkerStreet.There’s no worries about getting lost in this town also as it’s basically a large square with most of the roads heading in one direction only. So a rule of thumb if you got lost in Jonker Street and not sure where you are, just keep heading left or right and keep in that direction until you come upon where you started. It goes the same when you’re driving around as well. Either that or you can stop by a temple and pray that someone...
