Comparison of the New World and United States Today

Although the New World, from BNW, and the United States today are different in various ways, they do have a few things in common, which leads me to the effects of conditioning in BNW, also known as media and technology in the United States.
People in both the New World and the United States have been hypnotized in one way or another. It doesn’t matter if you’re watching an advertisement on the television or someone talking to you while you’re sleep. You will end up remembering what you have watched or listened to anyway. Hypnopedia, for example, is talked about throughout the entire book. The BNW uses this to convince people to be happy by telling them phrases that will protect them from emotional or physical harm. Hypnopedia is also a method used to control people's thoughts by repeating the same message over and over again until those messages are stuck in their minds forever. In the book, it was discovered in chapter two that hypnopedia was discovered by a young Polish boy. It was said that he fell asleep with the news on, and woke up reciting the whole program word from word. After learning about the discovery, the Controllers had the children taught moral lessons in their sleep. What hypnopedia does to the New World, technology and media does almost the same to the U.S. In the United States, media and technology is heavily relied upon. Media for example, determines what they want us to know without giving out full information. Basically they try to tell people how to think. Also in magazines too, because every time you look up, you see celebrities’ personal lives. The photographers who take these pictures are so drawn into their work, that they don’t care how they get it, just as long as they get something decent to make them enough money.   There are other things that can remind someone of hypnosis, such a baby’s musical crib.
